I have been asked severally by people, "Is programming easy?" especially by those who just found out I code. Usually, those who ask are considering going into programming and are trying to determine if they are up for the challenge, or they are just being caring and want to know how I cope being a developer. Regardless of the reason, it is a very important question. Being able to program is one of the most needed skills in the world today and there will always be a job opportunity for anyone good at it. Mark Zuckerberg, the CEO, and founder of Facebook said "Our policy at Facebook is literally to hire as many talented engineers as we can find. There just aren't enough people who are trained and have these skills today". There is a high demand for programmers and it has been projected that there are more job openings for software developers than there are qualified people to fill them, so if you are considering going into the field, I would advise you to get started. But, is programming easy? My answer is Yes and No, it depends on you and your perspective. No doubt programming is challenging and requires a lot of dedication, and your first few days of learning can prove to be unpleasant, but if you put in your best efforts you would soon see it actually is easy, but if you easily get intimidated by the long lines of codes, you will hold on to the view that programming is difficult. The fact that programming can be self-taught shows it can be easy. Several websites exist for anyone to learn for free or for a fee, some are w3schools.com, tutorialspoint.com, sitepoint.com, coursera.org, etc.
Being able to program is an important skill anyone can have one his/her CV, especially in this technology-driven age, and with dedication, it can be easily learned. Steve Jobs, the Founder of Apple once said "Everybody in this country should learn to program a computer because it teaches you how to think".
