LP legislative aspirant for Delta decamps to PDP

Mr Clement Odukwe, abDelta State legislative House of Assembly candidate of the Labour Party (LP) in the 2023 general election in Oshimili South local government area, has dumped the party for the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP).

Odukwe, who jumped ship ahead of the local government election, was reintroduced by the LGA party chairman, Ogbueshi Dada Okonji, at the monthly meeting of PDP Ward 5 on Sunday.

Okonji attributed the inability of some PDP members to remain and work for the party to impatience, which he noted had robbed such members of great opportunities in the system.

He said the PDP was the only visible political party in Oshimili south and expressed optimism that all who left the party would definitely have cause to return and be part of the large political family.

The PDP chairman charged party faithful, especially the ward leaderships, to intensify efforts at wooing aggrieved members and those who stepped aside for flimsy excuses, insisting that the PDP umbrella was large enough to accommodate as many as were willing to belong.

Okonji thanked the former LP candidate for his decision to return to where he originally belonged and assured him and other returnees that the internal democracy in the party would ensure their well-being.

On his part, Mr Clement Odukwe, thanked the party for accepting him back and pledged his loyalty and support.
